Modernized Crossbow

This is a Medieval themed Crossbow with modern day aspects  such as bolts and welding. 

 

How was it made?

The model was created using Maya 2017 and Substance painter 2. The overall time it took to complete this model without any unwrapping was roughly 10 hours and then the unwrapping took another 4 hours. But it was all worth it. The model has 2 different UV Maps and this is purely because some things wouldn't fit on to one Map and you will lose texture quality if you squash everything in.

Texturing

When the model was completely unwrapped and i was happy, i moved on to substance painter 2 to start texturing my model. The textures for the main body are 4k resolution and the String and the resistor are both 2K Textures. The textures on my Crossbow are made up of several different maps, and they are the Normal Map, Ambient Occlusion, Roughness and Metallic.
